LAWS OF GOLF # 5: No matter what causes a golfer to muff a shot, all his playing partners must solemnly chant, "You looked up," or invoke the wrath of the universe. Low gross honors were shared last week by Joan McNally and Peg Ansbro. Both had 60. Low net was scored by Dotty Dunne with a 46. Other scores in the sixties included Pam Armour and Nancy Heffernan with 62, Meg Ferrick with 64, Doris Neimeth and Dotty Dunne had 66, Eileen Watson had 67 and Barbara Caramelli finished with 68.

Scoring in the seventies with 71 were Pat Livingstone, Marie Campbell and Kay Miller. Gail Clifford had 72, and the trio of Pat Kelly, Marilyn Danese and Terry GaNun all had 73. Arlene Crane and Joan Fallon (74), Bernice Carroll and Eileen Witzgall (75), Joanna Beck (76), and the quintet of Dotty Sullivan, Marge O'Leary, Joan Williams, Mildred Seligman and Lil Hanratty had 77 and Liz Cameron finished with 79.

Chip-in birds were scored by Meg Ferrick, Peg Ansbro, Lil Hanratty and Eileen Witzgall. Two birdies apiece were credited to Pat Kelly and Peg Ansbro. Joan McNally,Marge Driscoll, Doris Neimeth, Pam Armour, Eileen Watson, Arlene Crane, Liz Cameron and Marilyn Danese all had birdies. Chip-ins were credited to Marge Driscoll, Kathleen Joyce, Maureen McGuire, Mary McDermott, Eileen Witzgall and Mildred Seligman. And Arlene Crane finished with two chip-ins.

Closest to the pin on #1 was Dot Sullivan and on 18 the winner was Marilyn Danese. Bernice Carroll won the 50/50. A revision has been made in the lunch schedule: the last day for lunch at the Catholic Club will be on August 24th which is also the first day of the tournament. The following week is the second day of the tournament (Aug.31) and the closing luncheon at the Silver Gull is on Sept. 7th. Checks for $30. should be made out to "Par Tee Golf" and given to chair persons Alice Mateos or Bea Sharrock.

Phyllis Diller said the real reason the pro tells you to keep your head down is so you can't see him laughing at you. God Bless. Have a great week.
