Queens Mall Walk For Diabetes 9/17

A walkathon to benefit diabetes funding and research will be held on Sunday, September 17 at the Queens Center Mall, 90-15 Queens Boulevard in Elmhurst.

"America's Mall Walk for Diabetes," sponsored by the American Diabetes Association, kicks off at 8:30 a.m., with registration opening at 7:30 a.m. Participants will complete a 5K walk around the mall in support of the fight against diabetes. Entertainment, a Mall Walk Fitness Festival, Youth Zone, prizes and vendors will also be part of the event, and beverages, fruit and healthy snacks will be provided.

Walkers must have a completed registration sheet and a minimum pledge of $150 dollars to participate.

Over 213,000 Queens residents are living with diabetes. The American Diabetes Association works to fund diabetes research for a cure, as well as providing diabetes information, awareness, advocacy and outreach.
