Local Child Care Training Set For Fall

The Business Outreach Center Network, Inc. (BOC) offers Child Care Business Development Project (CCBDP) to individuals who are starting or expanding an in-home child care business. This free training helps homebased child care providers plan and run a successful child care business by offering a nine-week, 45 hour comprehensive program of business training and professional support.

Licensed home-based child care providers offer high quality care to over 50,000 children throughout New York City in small group settings. They are fully licensed and inspected by New York State and must complete a minimum of 15 hours of child care education and training each year. CCBDP training hours can be applied to hours required by New York State. The training is designed to help providers plan for a successful business, market their programs, to enroll more children, manage the money in your business to meet your needs, get paid for the work that you do, and much more. BOC Executive Director Nancy Carin adds, "We are very excited about this innovative collaborative project. We think this is a good model to help women who are starting home based child care businesses to succeed and realize their dreams of owning a business."

Rockaway benefits from this free training thanks to funding made available by Councilman James Sanders, Jr. This is one of many programs Sanders is supporting to increase economic development and growth.
