Kids Learn Fundamentals Of Baseball At Fort Tilden


Eighty kids had the opportunity to take part and learn the fundamentals of baseball at the Diamond Pros and Rockaway Little League 2006 Baseball and Softball Experience late last month. For two weeks, camp director Lou Santos, with more than 40 years of baseball coaching experience at Concordia College and Archbishop Molloy High School and along with professional instructors, taught the kids the skills to understand and play the game. Players from the ages from 5 to 12 years old were broken into four groups with drills that emphasized the fundamentals of hitting, throwing, catching and running. The event took place at the Rockaway Little League Complex at Fort Tilden.
