'Operation Everybody Works' A Success

A project dedicated to finding employment for 90 people in 90 days was a success, Senator Malcolm Smith announced on Tuesday.

Smith launched a pilot program aimed at facilitating the union between the sides of supply and demand in today's workforce.

"We actually exceeded our objective standard and found meaningful work for 93 individuals within our 90 day targeted time frame, and by all objective measures, we can call this program a resounding success for all of those involved," Smith said.

Michael Pope, a Senior Career Recruiter for Commerce Bank, noted efforts by Operation Everybody Works in finding positions available for those motivated to find work. "The mentor and his staff is to be well commended for an outstanding effort and for being responsible for placing numerous clients in gainful employment," said Pope.

Among those businesses and community organizations involved in OEW were: the Briarwood Management Corporation, Warner, Target, The Long Island Railroad and Commerce Bank.
