LAWS OF GOLF #3: Brand new golf balls are water-magnetic. Though this cannot be proven in the lab, it is a known fact that the more expensive the golf ball, the greater its attraction to water. Expensive clubs have been known to be partly made with this most unusual natural alloy.
In last week's action, the low gross of 61 was scored by Eileen Watson and low net of 45 was scored by Joanna Beck. Nancy Heffernan and Gail Clifford scored 64, Honey Ryan had 65, Peg Ansbro had 66, and Joan McNally and Barbara Caramelli had 69. In the seventies were Joanna Beck (70), Meg Ferrick and Bunny GaNun (71), Dottie Dunne and Chris Brunner (72), MaryEllen Hogan (73), Pam Armour (75), and at 77 were Lillian Hanratty, Theresa GaNun, Theresa McKeever, Mildred Seligman and Dottie Sullivan and a 79 was scored by Anne Lane.
Double birdies were carded by Honey Ryan, Chris Brunner, Barbara Caramelli and Gail Clifford, and Bunny GaNun had a birdie on #9. Pat Powers had two chip-ins on #4 and 6 and Terry McKeever and Joan McNally each had one. Chip-in birdies were scored by Dottie Dunne and Dottie Sullivan.
The winner of the 50/50 was Peg Hurley.
