World Champions Karate Captures Gold
The World Champions Karate Tournament Team shined at the 2006 AAU National Karate Championships. For nearly 20 years, the World Champions Karate Center has participated and made their mark. This year was no different with lots of gold, silver and bronze to go around to all of the athletes. The team's age ranged from seven years old through adult.
The competition was held in sunny Miami at Florida International University. Each year, the competition is tough and this event was no exception. The athletes came for a good time, a mini vacation, but most of all, to win. The twenty team members garnered over thirty medals in Kobudo (weapons), KATA (forms) and Kumite (sparring).
Sensei Bruce Hodes stated "our students train hard, are selfdisciplined and never give up." Hodes also said that he was proud of each student as they did their best and performed under extreme pressure in the ring.
