Six Pharmacy Department personnel at St. John's Episcopal Hospital recently received on-site training to upgrade their skills as pharmacy technicians.

St. John's paired up with Queens College and union 1199 SEIU to offer this 10-session course to six employees who were looking to further their careers, tuition paid courtesy of 1199.

After completion of the course, all six graduates now qualify to take the National Pharmacy Technician Certification exam. "Our new skills will take the whole Pharmacy Department to another level," said graduate Sally Rivera. Another graduate, Amir Anderson, also commented, "It was an honor to take this course."
