Timothy R. Curran Real Estate Investor

Timothy R. Curran, a lifelong Rockaway resident, died July 9. He was 32.

Curran, a real estate investor, was born on May 25, 1974 in Rockaway Beach.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Curran.

Curran is survived by his mother, Mary Curran; sister, Rachel and her husband, Steve Colleran and their children, Justin and Samantha; and girlfriend, Sue.

Funeral arrangements and visitation were entrusted to the Denis S. O'Connor Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Francis de Sales Church.

Lily D. Garner

Nurse

Lily D. Garner, a Rockaway resident for two years, died June 27. She was 68.

Garner, a nurse, was born on July 7, 1937 in Inwood.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Nathaniel Garner; and sisters, Carol and Nareen.

Garner is survived by her mother, Bessie L. Davis; son, Robert Davis; grandson, Robert Bailey; daughter-in-law, Darlene Davis; sister, Rev. Shirley Davis; 12 nieces; eight nephews; two sisters-in-law; two brothers-in-law; two nephews-in-law; church family; and many other family and friends.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Jeremiah C. Gaffney's Funeral Home. Visitation was held at First Baptist Church of Far Rockaway. Interment was at Greenfield Cemetery in Uniondale, New York.

Raymond C. Henry

Elevator Mechanic

Raymond C. Henry, a lifelong Rockaway resident, died July 12. He was 58.

Henry, an elevator mechanic, was born January 16, 1948 in New York City.

He was preceded in death by wife, Judith Kenna.

Henry is survived by sons, Raymond and James Henry; daughter-in-law, Kathleen; grandchildren, Roy and Haley; brother, James and his wife Janet; and sister, Roseanne and her husband John.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Denis S. O'Connor Funeral home. Visitation will be on Friday, July 14, 2-5 p.m. and 7-10 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Church. Interment will be at Holy Rood in Westbury, New York.

Wilma Foster Lawrence

Nurse

Wilma Foster Lawrence, a Rockaway resident for two years, died July 1. She was 77.

Lawrence, a nurse, was born April 22, 1929 in Port of Spain, Trinidad.

She was preceded in death by her son, David Cameron.

Lawrence is survived by her husband, Wilfred (Sonny) Lawrence; daughters, Donna and Lisa Simone; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Jeremiah C. Gaffney's Funeral Home. Visitation and a service will be held at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Rosedale, New York. Interment will be at Rockville Cemetery in Lynbrook, New York.

Ann C. Lombardi

School Aide

Ann C. Lombardi, a Rockaway resident for over 50 years, died July 10.

Lombardi, a school aide who worked at PS 43 and PS 225, was born in Brooklyn.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Lombardi.

Lombardi is survived by her daughters, Jo Ann Cronin, Carol Firmbach and Dorothy Voight; son, Michael Lombardi; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Denis S. O'Connor Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, July 14 at 10:45 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Church.

Allen Benjamin Neely

Truck Driver

Allen Benjamin Neely, a Rockaway resident for over 20 years, died June 29. He was 86.

Neely, a truck driver, was born on December 17, 1919 in Due West, South Carolina. Neely served his country in the United States Army during World War II.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Esther.

Neely is survived by his sister, Blanche Belle of Hartford, Connecticut; brother, Nathan Neely and wife Susie of Barton, Georgia; special friends, Ms. Amy and Ms. Betty; friends at the Broadview Manor Home for Adults in Staten Island; and many other family and friends.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Jeremiah C. Gaffney's Funeral Home, with visitation at Gaffney's Friendship Chapel. Interment was at Calverton National Cemetery in Calverton, New York.

Neal X. Rairden Jr.

Produce Manager

Neal X. Rairden Jr., a lifelong resident of Far Rockaway and Inwood, died July 4. He was 54.

Rairden, a produce manager at Foodtown, was born on March 20, 1952 in Rockaway Beach. He was a graduate of Far Rockaway High School.

He was preceded in death by his father, Neal X. Rairden Sr., who was a Rockaway youth leader.

Rairden is survived by his mother, Margaret (nee Annarelli) of Inwood; son, Christopher of Island Park; daughter, Cynthia Rairden of Valley Stream; granddaughter, Sydney; sisters, Gail Bowman of Franklin Square, Anne Rairden of Far Rockaway, Barbara Cestaro of Valley Stream and Jeannie DeMilia of Inwood; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Meserole Funeral Home in Inwood. A Funeral Mass was celebrated at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church in Inwood. Disposition was at Fresh Pond Crematory in Middle Village. Interment of the cremains will be held at Greenfield Cemetery in Hempstead, Long Island at a later date.

Dennis Patrick Shanley

School Bus Driver

Dennis Patrick Shanley, a longtime Rockaway resident, died July 3. He was 62.

Shanley, a school bus driver for Laidlaw Transport Company in Freeport, was born on August 21, 1943 in Manhattan. He moved to the Hammels in the 1950s with his family and was a graduate of Far Rockaway High School. Following his marriage, Shanley lived in Inwood, Long Beach and Island Park.

Shanley was preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Beatrice (nee Gray) Shanley.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy (nee Monterosso) of Island Park; son, Dennis M. and wife Aixza Lee Shanley of Island Park; daughter, Carol Lopez of Long Beach; grandchildren, Jazmin and Victoria; brothers, Matthew Shanley of Bayswater and James Shanley of Rockaway Park; five nieces; and five nephews.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Meserole Funeral Home in Inwood. A Funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Ignatius Roman Catholic Church in Long Beach. Interment was at Rockville Cemetery in Lynbrook.

Antoine Eugene Stepney

Warehouse Manager

Antoine Eugene Stepney, a Rockaway resident for over 20 years, died June 29. He was 38.

Stepney, a warehouse manager, was born on August 7, 1967 in Harlem.

He is survived by his wife, Sharina; children, Tyreke, Alexis, Moniq and Kimberly; mother, Barbara Stepney; sisters, Myra Stepney-Enoch and Tanya Stepney; brothers, Charles "Bop" Stepney Jr. and Sharone Stepney; father, Charles Sr. and his wife Bertha Stepney; mother-in-law, Kathleen Colon; brothers-in-law, Ronnie Enoch, Ivan and Lasean Colon; sister-in-law, Stephanie; niece, Destini; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Jeremiah C. Gaffney's Funeral Home, with visitation at Gaffney's Friendship Chapel. Interment was at Amityville Cemetery in Amityville, New York.

Lamont Stoves

Dispatcher

Lamont Stoves, a Rockaway resident for over 30 years, died June 17. He was 43.

Stoves, a dispatcher for The Magnificent 7's Cab Company, was born on July 8, 1962 in Brooklyn. At an early age he was baptized and became a member of the Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend E.L. Sutton.

He was preceded in death by his father, Walter Stoves.

Stoves is survived by his wife, Judy Powell; son, Lamont Stoves Jr.; stepchildren, Troy and Kenya Powell of Brooklyn; mother, Maggie S. Miller; sisters, Sharon, Cynthia, Gwendolyn, Lisa, Cathy, Georgette, and Esther; brothers, Gregory and James; nineteen nieces and nephews; twelve great nieces; five great nephews; aunts, Katherine Brown and Mary Summers; two sisters-in-law; six brothers-in-law; step mother-in-law, Annie Heath of Ohio; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Ponce Funeral Home in Brooklyn. A service was held at Macedonia Baptist Church in Far Rockaway.

Patrick Andre White

Publisher, Author

Patrick Andre White, a Rockaway resident for two years, died July 3. He was 48.

White, a publisher and author, was born on May 30, 1958 in Brooklyn. He served his country in the United States Navy.

White is survived by his mother, Mary White-Taylor; stepfather, Herbert Taylor; brothers, James White, Richard White, Laurence White and Thomas White; sister, Lisa White; three sisters-in-law; seven nephews; one niece; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Jeremiah C. Gaffney's Funeral Home. Visitation and a service were held at Resurrection Lutheran Church in St. Albans. Interment was at All Saints Cemetery in Great Neck, New York.
