Big Apple Games At BCHS
The Big Apple Games is a free summer recreational program which started on July 5 and ends on August 17 at Beach Channel High School. It gives schoolchildren the opportunity to take part in a number of activities during the summer months.
The New York City Department of Education and the Public School Athletic League will offer students from grades 5 through 12 the chance to get active in numerous programs.
The program operates from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. with an evening session occurring from 6 to 9 p.m. Students can get involved in the various sports that will be offered such as wrestling, volleyball, basketball, softball, floor hockey, gymnastics and others. Game room activities and arts and crafts will also take place.
A high school football camp, which site offers instruction, weightlifting, conditioning and agility training will take place from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Players who are in grades 9-12 who are currently playing high school football and live in the peninsula are invited to attend.
