Sarnoff Play Featured In Brooklyn Theatre Program
Wave editorial cartoonist Robert Sarnoff's play, "Safe @ Home," will be featured as part of the Brooklyn College Theatre Arts Alumni annual Summer Armchair Readers Program.
The one-act comedy is set in the kitchen of a Bensonhurst apartment in 1957, when the Dodgers are leaving town. "It's the demise of western civilization as we know it," says Max, one of the characters in the play.
The reading will take place at the Brooklyn Music School Playhouse in downtown Brooklyn on Tuesday, July 18.
Following the play, the acting ensemble will engage in a roundtable commentary on the script, identify the human traits in the characters, the authenticity of the characters' actions, and discuss the playwright's purpose. The script will be read by rotating the roles, allowing everyone in the ensemble to participate.
