PS 197 Penny Harvest Donates To PHC

The children who participated in the Penny Harvest Program from P.S. 197 under the coordination of Alice McElroy, presented Peninsula Hospital Center with a check for $1,000.00 representing a collection of 100,000 pennies! Not only was there a formal presentation, but the children had written and memorized speeches and prepared a little "lunch" program. There were many children present along with the Assistant Principal making the planned festivities fun and meaningful. The $1,000.00 will be used for the Angels on the Bay Pediatric Unit. "Anyone's day would have been made substantially brighter by the sincere program the children presented," said Liz Sulik. "It was really a treat for me and their gift will mean a great deal to those children who require hospitalization in our Pediatric Unit throughout the year."
