The stars of the luncheon were the five women who have been members since the club began. Muriel Adler, Helen Bartwink, Ernie Feinland, Ruth Kabram and Nan Knebel shared their memories of starting the club in 1956 when they were very young women. They have been loyal and active members ever since.

In honor of their achievement, each was entered in the NYS Federated Garden Club's Book of Recognition. The memories of all their accomplishments have been kept alive with wonderful photo albums filled with memorabilia of meetings, horticultural and design workshops, trips to beautiful gardens and flower shows.

Also in attendance were two "seedlings", members of the Jr. Garden Club in 1956. Phillis Knebel Rogoff and Dr. Karen Adler Fischer have developed their interest in gardening that began so long ago, Rogoff in Belle Harbor and Fischer at her Westchester home in the garden she designed.

I now see as one rides through those West End communities, Gardens are observed that can only be matched by the Botanical Gardens in New York. Congradulations to you Woderful Ladies. You are a great credit to the entire Peninsula.
