Valentino Augusta Schroeder, grandchild of Peter and Helene Danzilo, son of daughter Lanney and husband. Richard Schroeder, was baptized into the Catholic Church this past Sunday. And a handsome little angel he is. Sister, Christine Danzilo was godmother and Father Frank Cregan officiated. It was a nice private christening at St. Thomas More Church in Breezy Point with family and specials guests. And, Valentino behaved angelically.
Back at the house we met all of the other guests: Kathleen Conway, Peter's sister, Barbara Genoese (at the church, too) along with Lanney's sister and Danzilo's other daughter, Maria, her twins, Clara and Peter, and daughter Hollis and husband, Richard Lehv. The wine flowed and the food, in abundance, was deliciously catered by Ludwig. After our bellies were full it was time for entertainment. Ernie Barry, longtime entertainer who recently appeared on the Jimmy Kimmel Show, and close and longtime friend of the Danzilo's, was there with his wife, Brenda Barry. Ernie played some of the old tunes we know so well on the piano and he and his wife sang, Helen, a vision in white, danced and we all had a great, fun time. It was a beautiful party. And we sent handsome, little Valentino out into the world all blest and with our best wishes for him for a Life Filled With Love And Happiness.

Rootstein Mannequins, the crme of the crop and visible in most upscale stores, celebrated their 50th Anniversary. We will hear the story of the Mannequins on WNYX TV next week......... The First Day of Summer party was held at the Merchant's House Museum, which is NYC's only family home preserved intact, inside and out from the 19 th Century. Built in 1832 just steps from Washington Square, this elegant red-brick and white-marble row house on East Fourth Street was home to prosperous merchant, Seabury Tredwell and his family for 100 years. Today, the house offers a rare and intimate glimpse of domestic life during the 19th Century. Vodka Martini Bar, Kitchen Club Chef and owner, Marja Samson and her outrageously delicious dumplings, wines and spirits were among the tastings offered. A silent auction and live Jazz were all part of the benefit for the Museum.

They display mostly kitchen equipment and the newest in hinges and how they work to improve the functionality of homes and offices. They can all be seen at their showroom at 25 East 26th Street @ Madison Avenue.
The World Cup! Yes, I saw Germany defeat Sweden at the German House at East 49th Street and what a great time. Soccer is most certainly a viewer's sport. It was so exciting, when they all stood up and roared at each goal. Germany won 2 to 0. In between there was plenty of beer and little tender sausages. We really got into the spirit of things. But you can cover the World Cup on your own screen.
