Sarah Louise Green Primous
Sarah Louise Green Primous, a longtime Rockaway resident, died June 3. She was 73.
Primous was born on April 15, 1930 in St. Mathews, South Carolina. She received her education from the schools of St. Mathews, South Carolina and migrated to New York City, where she met her future husband in Rockaway Beach. They married in 1955. Primous was a member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church for many years, under the leadership of the late Pastor Reverend John T.F. Mason. She was an avid cook and enjoyed spending holidays with her family.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Savannah Green; husband, Elloyd Primous; and brother, Deacon Sammuel Vanager.
Primous is survived by her three daughters, Diane Perry Simmons of the Bronx, Debra Walker of Far Rockaway, and Valerie Primous of Arverne; son, Elliott Primous of Far Rockaway; two sons-in-law, Timothy Walker and William Simmons; brother, Monroe Green of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; sister, Jessie Marrow of Glenville, New York; sisters-in-law, Carrie Vanager, Carrie Reedon of Connecticut and Georgia Thompson of Maryland; special niece, Carolyn Green of Minnesota; special and devoted nephew, Irvin Green of St. Mathews, South Carolina; fifteen grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Lawrence Funeral Chapel. Visitation and a service were held at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Rockaway Beach. Interment was at Rockville Cemetery in Lynbrook, Long Island.
