Olga Viola Lee

Home Health Aide

Olga Viola Lee, a Rockaway resident for more than 30 years, died June 7. She was 81.

Lee, a home health aide, was born on March 2, 1925 in Nassau, the Bahamas. She was also a member of the First Presbyterian Russell Sage Memorial Church in Far Rockaway.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Woodward Lee; daughter, Cynthia Savaletta; and a son who died shortly after birth.

Lee is survived by her daughters, Rosalyn and Donna Lee; sisters, Rose Bradshaw and Hillerina Thompson and their families; brother, retired LTC Charles Smith and family; grandchildren, Vanessa, Yvette, Cordell, Trevor and Paul and their families; ten great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; niece, Sandra Welsh and family; nephews, Philip and Timothy Patton and their families; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Jeremiah C. Gaffney's Funeral Home, with visitation at Gaffney's Friendship Chapel. A service was held at First Presbyterian Russell Sage Memorial Church in Far Rockaway. Interment was at Pinelawn Memorial Cemetery in Farmingdale, New York.
