Peninsula Hospital Auxilians Get Pampered

eninsula Hospital Center's Auxiliary met last week and was treated to a very special presentation by Elena Solitario, founder of Pilo Arts Day Spa & Salon of Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. The meeting was very well attended and the ladies of the auxiliary learned of proper spring and summer skin care, with hands on demonstrations in "face mapping" by a representative specialist from Dermalogica.

There were goodies for everyone, including samples of the latest in skin care products and gift certificates for haircuts and styles, treatments, mini-make up applications and coupons for a variety of discount offers. One lucky auxilian, Gert Oltchick, won a complete makeover at the famous Brooklyn spa and hair salon.

Pilo Arts has been very supportive of Peninsula Hospital Center's special occasions, offering gift certificates and services to those who attended the annual ball as well as the nurses luncheon and the auxilians invitation for their representatives to join the auxiliary for lunch and good fellowship this month was a just a small way of saying thank you for their continued support.

The Peninsula Hospital Auxiliary is more than just luncheons and day trips, though, and now is the time their dedication and commitment to the development fund of the Hospital Center is most evident. They are currently involved in their annual raffle drive, where 100 lucky participants are given the chance to win anywhere from $1,000 to $3,000 in first, second and third prizes.

The success of this drive depends on the participation of the community, and the entire proceeds of this fundraising effort will go directly to the Hospital Center's Mammography Unit.

The Auxiliary of Peninsula Hospital Center meets the first Tuesday of every month (with the exception of July, when it will meet on Wednesday, July 5th). Their activities include their monthly luncheons, special sale days, trips to points of interest around New York City, staffing information tables at special events, and, of course, their annual fundraising efforts.
