Broad Channel Bits

Locals Take Part In Ohio's Ceremony
By Liz Guarino

For all the men who are Dads, Grandads, Stepdads or just like a Dad to someone, have a wonderful Father's Day!

A Thank You from Robert E. Connolly, Post Commander of the American Legion goes with the photo in this column. It reads: "On May 9, 2006 in Brook Park, Ohio, members of the American Legion Post 1404 were present to dedicate the Brook Park Veterans Memorial in honor of the 20 Marines from the 3rd Marine Battalion, 25th Regiment of Marines who were killed in action while serving in Iraq. Because of your generosity and thoughtfulness, we were able to present them with a check for $10,000 which will go to the families of the Marines and also their memorial. Without your help, this would not have been possible. From the Broad Channel American Legion family, we would again like to say thank you. God Bless You and God Bless America."
