Alison Johnson (pictured middle) won first place at the Eastern Seaboard Twirling Championships. For the second year in a row, Allison- Frances Johnson of Belle Harbor remained undefeated in all twirling organizations for her age group. The nine year old proficiency in twirling was highlighted recently at the eastern Seaboard Twirling Organization Championships in May. She not only took first place in her age categories and all division, but also became the "grand champion" of the dance and twirl event.

As the grand champion, she advanced to the twirl-offs competition and defeated all age groups and levels. On Saturday, June 3, she continued her winning streak at the New York Twirling Organization Championships where she was undefeated again in her age group and division.

Johnson would like to thank Coaches Michelle Deery and Arlene Martin of Levittown PAL, Igor Osaechiy of the Brooklyn Gymnastics Center, Annie Schneider of Belle Harbor and the Sheepshead Bay Yacht Club for giving her practice space. Alison and her team are getting ready for national level competitions in July.
