PHC Welcomes Director ofMinimally Invasive Surgery
Robert V. Levine, President and Chief Executive Officer and Alvin Slovin, M.D., Acting Director, Department of Surgery, recently announced the appointment of Nick H. Gabriel, D.O. as Director of Minimally Invasive Surgery. Dr. Gabriel has also served as Director of the Surgical Residency Program for the past year. He is Board Certified in General Surgery, with expertise in minimally invasive surgery and has been in practice in the New York area for the past five years. Dr. Gabriel trained in general surgery at Wyckoff Heights Medical Center and completed a fellowship in advanced laparoscopic surgery at Yale University School of Medicine. He is well published and trains surgeons in minimally invasive techniques. An active member of numerous surgical organizations and committees, Dr. Gabriel also sits on the American Osteopathic Board of Surgery. He is already performing advanced laparoscopic procedures at Peninsula Hospital Center and is available for consultation. Dr. Gabriel's private practice is now located in the Department of Surgery on the fourth floor of the Hospital Center.
