Local Lady Hibernians Installation Ceremony

The Rockaway and Breezy Point communities celebrated the installation of the Officers of the new Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians Division 25 on Tuesday, May 23.

The division is accepting new members until the end of June when they break for the summer. Representing the Queens division were President, Maureen Leahy; Vice President, Meg Redling; Secretary, Jennifer Kelly; and Immigration and Legislation, Mary MacCauley. The division resumes meetings in September. Also present at the installation were Chaplin Father James Devine.

Rockaway's AOH President Philip McManus and Queens men's Division, President Fran McGloghlin, were also in attendance.

We are extremely excited at the fact that we are officially a new Chartered Division of the LOAH. We are a group of very talented women who are proud to be able to make history by starting this new division."

The ladies division looks forward to welcoming new members at their next meeting in June. They will be starting their Junior division for girls 6-16 in September.
