Elaine Gordon, a Rockaway resident for over 20 years, died May 19. She was 63.

Gordon, a home health aide, was born on March 3, 1943 in Sandy Point, St. Kitts, West Indies. She was a parishioner of St. Rose of Lima Church.

She is survived by her husband, Abraham Gordon; son, Stephen Rouse of the United Kingdom; daughter, Jacinth Wilkinson of the United Kingdom; stepsons, Adrian Gordon and Morris Gordon of the United States; stepdaughters, Andrina Gordon and Rosemund Gordon of the West Indies; grandchildren, Marsha Beckford, Marina Wilkins, Nathan Rouse, Vanessa Rouse and Eugene Rouse of the United Kingdom; great-grandchildren, Elija Jamal Onibudo and Paris Beckford of the United Kingdom; brothers, Marcel and McBride; nephews, Deon Wilkinson, Junior Benjamin and Curtis Benjamin; nieces, Carol, Joann Gordon and Elain; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Jeremiah C. Gaffney's Funeral Home, with visitation at Gaffney's Friendship Chapel. A Funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Church in Rockaway Beach. Interment was at St. Charles Cemetery in Farmingdale, New York.

Home Health Aide

Julia Clay Phillip-Salley, a Rockaway resident for over 20 years, died May 15. She was 65.

Phillip-Salley, a home health aide, was born on April 13, 1941 in Orangeburg, South Carolina. She was a member of St. Johns Baptist Church under the leadership of Dr. Wade Richmond.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin and Rebecca Green Phillip.

Phillip-Salley is survived by her husband of 44 years, Floyd Salley; daughters, Tracey and Robin; sisters, Lizzie Hinson of Far Rockaway, Lucille Eidson (Ulyssed) of Branchville, South Carolina, Bernice Washington (Daniel) of Orangeburg, South Carolina; Jessie L. Buskey of Branchville, South Carolina, and Mamie Carmichael (Johnny) of Orangeburg, South Carolina; brothers, Chifton Phillips of Orangeburg, South Carolina, Benjamin Phillips Jr. of Long Island City; Ruben Phillips (Madeline) of Branchville, South Carolina, and Frank Phillips of Branchville, South Carolina; aunt, Christine Salley of Brooklyn; five brothers-in-law; sisters-in-law; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Jeremiah C. Gaffney's Funeral Home. Visitation was held at the New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Rockaway Beach. Interment was at Greenfield Cemetery in Hempstead, New York.

Alfred Pizzi
Truck Driver

Alfred Pizzi, a Rockaway resident for 34 years, died May 17.

Pizzi, a truck driver, was born in Manhattan.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Fassrainer Pizzi; sons, Alfred and Michael Pizzi; granddaughter, Julianna; niece, Sandy; and nephews, Jess Giadono and Kenneth Ciarmelli.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Denis S. O'Connor Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Virgilius Church in Broad Channel. Interment was at St. Charles Cemetery in Farmingdale, New York.

Stanley C. Watson
Conductor

Stanley C. Watson, a Rockaway resident for over 15 years, died May 2. He was 84.

Watson, a conductor, was born on November 18, 1921 in Windsor, South Carolina.

Watson was preceded in death by his parents, Gaynelle Gray-Harrell and George Watson.

Watson is survived by his brothers, Lewis Harrell of Brooklyn and George Watson of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; sisters, Hattie Watson-Dunlap of Winston-Salem, North Carolina and Esther Harrell-Harper of Windsor, North Carolina; nieces, Tonya Johnson of New Jersey, Mona Blake of Staten Island, Mary Peltzer of Elmont, New York, Tina Gibbs of Brooklyn, Chris Johnson of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Phyllis Cooper of Florida, and Peggy Underwood of Far Rockaway; nephews, Michael, George and James Bell of Windsor, North Carolina, Dominick Golden of New Jersey, M. Shawn Golden of Virginia, David Bell of New Jersey, Lewis Harrell Jr. of Greenville, North Carolina, Howard E. Brown of Dale City, Virginia, and Randy Johnson of Philadephia, Pennsylvania; and many other relatives and friends.

Catherine Weltick
Homemaker

Catherine Weltick (nee Kloepfer), a longtime Rockaway resident, died May 23.

Weltick, a homemaker, was born in Manhattan.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles.

Weltick is survived by her daughters, Kathleen McMahon, Nancy Helmick, Cecile Williams, and Valerie Weltick; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Denis S. O'Connor Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 26, 2-5 p.m. and 7-10 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, May 27 at 10 a.m. at St. Camillus Church. Interment will be held at Calverton National Cemetery in Calverton, New York.

George Larraman White
Security Guard

George Larraman White, a Rockaway resident for more than 10 years, died May 11. He was 97.

White, a security guard, was born on December 13, 1908 in St. Mary, Jamaica, West Indies. He was a member of the International City Mission Church in Far Rockaway, under Reverend Donald Maxwell, Pastor.

White is survived by his parents, Ada and Daniel White.

He is survived by relatives and friends.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Jeremiah C. Gaffney's Funeral Home. Visitation was held at International City Mission Church in Far Rockaway. Interment was at All Saints Cemetery in Great Neck, New York.
