The 100 Precinct and 100 Precinct Community Council held their annual Family Fun Day on Saturday, May 13 at Ft. Tilden. Council members, police officers, family and friends got together for the picnic outing. Pictured from left to right are Howard Jate Doremus, president of the 100 Precinct Community Council; Captain Charles Neacy, Commanding Officer of the 100 Precinct; Daniel Ruscillo, board member; and Sandee Doremus, board member. They are shown with one of several new bikes purchased through the efforts of the 100 Precinct Community Council Board members, who collected local donations for the C-POP program.

Johnson of Broad Channel was awarded a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from Flagler College. Johnson was one of 320 Flagler seniors at the fall commencement ceremony, held April 22 on the college campus in St. Augustine, Florida.

Corpus Named To Dean's List At Binghamton

Kristine Corpus of Rockaway Beach was named to the Dean's List for outstanding academic achievement for the Fall 2005 semester from the Decker School of Nursing at Binghamton University, State University of New York.

Nurses were honored at St. John's Episcopal Hospital during National Nurses Week, which began on May 6 and ended on the anniversary of Florence Nightingale's birthday on May 12.. In the lobby, a photography display and presentation highlighted the important role nurses play in providing quality patient care at St. John's. Gifts were also raffled. Some of the organizers of the Nurses Week celebration are pictured, including (from left to right): Lorna Irving, RN, Nursing Manager, 10th Floor, Arlene Falconer-Hill, RN, Nursing Administrative Supervisor; Patricia Tischler, RN, Assistant Vice President for Patient Care Services; Gwen Pinckney, RN, Nursing Administrative Supervisor; and Wendy-Thompson-Russo, RN, Nurse Manager, Emergency Department.

Ladies Ancient Order Of Hibernians


A group of women from Rockaway and Breezy Point are working together to start a new division of the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians. They are pictured here at their first meeting on Tuesday, April 25 at the Breezy Point Activity Center. The next meeting will be held on Tuesday, May 23 at 8 p.m., and new members are welcome.
