Crashes Claim Three From Far Rockaway

Two recent car accidents - one on Rockaway Boulevard, the other in Tennessee - have claimed the lives of three Far Rockaway residents, according to published reports.

Toniquia Wilson, 23, was killed on Monday, May 8, when she lost control of her Honda Accord on Rockaway Boulevard, according to the New York Post. The car hit a curb and a fence before rolling over several times. Wilson, who reportedly has a 4-year-old son, was pronounced dead at the scene. Last week, 22-year-old Tamitra Washington and her 1-year-old son, Jahmere, were killed when the car they were riding in smashed into a bridge structure in western Tennessee, according to the New York Post.

Washington and her son were passengers in a car driven by a Jennaer Brown, 21, a college basketball star who was driving back to New York from her school in Texas. Washington and Brown were wearing seatbelts and the infant was in a child seat, it was reported. The victims' families could not be reached for comment.
