101 Officer Honored For Arrest

Deputy Inspector Walter Salowski introduces Officer Joseph Picarello as officer of the month at April's 101 Precinct Community Council meeting. Following a homicide in Nassau County, Salowski said the police there "came over to us and gave us some information, and this young officer goes 'I saw this [suspect] last week on New Haven'. Needless to say, he went out the next morning, found the guy and turned him over to the Nassau PD. [Officer Picarello] is out there making a difference in your community."
