Students at Beach Channel High School recently worked on an environmental/ conservation project with environmental educator Chris Smith, where they made posters and catchy slogans for their final presentation on "A Combined Sewer Overflow Awareness/Water Conservation."

The school sits on the shores of Jamaica Bay and borders the Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge, and students learned about the significant issue of combined sewage overflow that is important to our area. The students researched facts and created the posters, which were put up in various locations in the school.-
