Councilman James Sanders Jr. and ninety of the seniors who live in his district boarded the bus to the Netherlands of Woodloch Pines in the Poconos on March 30 for their second Annual Senior Extravaganza.

For all those who participated in this trip there was only one complaint and that was, "Do we have to leave already?" The seniors participated in three days of fun-filled activities ranging from horseback riding, snow sledding, swimming, bingo playing, and even though eating is not considered an activity, on this trip it was one of the most popular activities. Valerie West of The Deerfield Civic Association said, "I enjoyed every moment of the trip, it was an excellent trip and a very inspiring one."

Councilman Sanders also hosted " A Talk By The Fireside," which enabled his seniors a chance to share their dreams and concerns, one on one with him, about the 31st District.

"I feel our seniors have given us the gift of wisdom, love and knowledge and I felt taking them on this trip was a payment to the debt of unappreciation society imposed on them," said Sanders.
