Some Beach Channel High School students participated in the ninth annual Virtual Enterprises Trade Fair at the 69th Regiment Armory in Manhattan on Friday, April 7.

The event celebrated the tenth anniversary of the launching of the Virtual Enterprise program in New York City Public Schools. The Virtual Enterprise Trade Fair is an international educational experience where students have an opportunity to showcase and market their products as they engage in business with their local, national, and international peers. BC Bookstore is the virtual business

of Beach Channel High School. Frances Shackelford, the coordinator of the BC Bookstore, stated, "We were elated to learn that our product catalog qualified us as Catalog Competition Finalists! Under the supervision of VE student Michael Ford, the Vice President of Sales and Marketing, our product catalog placed in the top 20 of 131 entries. I am so proud of them because although other schools may have professional help in creating their entries, Beach Channel students do the creative production themselves."

and diverse talents in entrepreneurship, communications, graphic design and business management. Together with Margaret Bianculli's AOIT students, who accompanied BC Bookstore

students to the trade fair, they had the opportunity to meet students from around the country and the world, including Hong Kong, China.
