Students Lend Helping Hand To Motorists

Avi Satt, 17, directs traffic at the intersection of Beach 17 Street and Seagirt Boulevard after the traffic lights froze in all directions on Monday afternoon. Satt, a student at the Maurice and Edith Lowinger Mesivta High School on the corner of Beach 17 and Seagirt Boulevard told The Wave the lights were out for about 45 minutes before he came out. Satt directed traffic for about 30 minutes until the police arrived. "[We were concerned] if anything would happen, so we decided to come out and help," Satt told The Wave. Yaakov Istavski, 19, also a student at the school kept the traffic moving smoothly for almost an hour. Photo(s) by Miriam Rosenberg
