Racist Graffiti Rears Ugly Head In West End


A racist graffiti artist with little understanding of history plied his avocation in a number of west end locations this week, prompting police to call his (or her) writings as a 'hate crime." This photograph was taken at Rockaway Beach Boulevard and Beach 125 Street, but other versions of the same showed up nearby St. Francis de Sales Church on Beach 129 Street and in other locations as well. In the middle of March of last year, the Yeshiva and its ambulance at Beach 129 Street were covered with racist ramblings. The person who did that was never caught.
