The writer of the following email wants to be sure that everyone in the Channel who owns a car is alerted to her message. It is about "... the recent rash of car break-ins in the Channel. Apparently there have been a large number of cars broken into over the past several weeks. Those responsible are looking for quick cash, cigarettes, CDs and radios. They rob from cars blocks at a time.Everyone whose car has been affected should report it to the precinct.Making a WRITTEN REPORT is a must! Just phoning it in to the precinct means nothing-the police do not consider that a report. You will probably be discouraged from making a written report, but must insist. If there is to be police presence here, people must make written reports. The only way we can get a squad car to ride around is if everyone reports these break-ins in writing."
