MTA To Add Six Stops To Q53 Route
The Q53 bus will make six additional stops, adding up to 20 minutes to riders' commute, starting the first week in April, according to a spokesperson for MTA Bus. The Wave received calls this week from concerned commuters like Rockaway resident Berris Jones, who heard the news from bus drivers Monday morning and are worried it will push their commutes to Manhattan to the two-hour mark. MTA Bus, which had not released a service advisory at press time, confirmed the changes for The Wave. The new stops are: Metropolitan Avenue, Myrtle Avenue, Jamaica Avenue, Atlantic Avenue, Liberty Avenue and 157 Avenue. The limited-stop bus currently stops at Rockaway Park, Broad Channel, Rego Park and Woodside.
