Ohab Zedek Presents Spring Lecture Program
Congregation Ohab Zedek, 134-01 Rockaway Beach Boulevard in Belle Harbor, presents the Spring 2006 Henry Kaye Memorial Lecture Program, with three lecturers and selected film showings.
The theme of the series is "Jewish Confrontations In The Modern Era," with presentations and films that discuss several thought-provoking topics pertaining to contemporary Jewish history.
On Monday, March 20 at 8 p.m., guest lecturer Dr. Bryan Mark Rigg will discuss "Hitler's Jewish Soldiers: Moral Questions About The Holocaust And Identity." Rigg is a professor of history at American Military University and Southern Methodist University, and the author of "Hitler's Jewish Soldiers." The film "Protocols Of Zion" will be presented on Monday, March 27 at 8 p.m. The film displays anti-Semitism in the modern era.
Director/producer Marc Levin will hold a discussion after the film's showing.
The series will be rounded out on Monday, April 3 at 8 p.m. with the film "Nicholas Winton: The Power Of Good," a documentary about the determination and courage of a young English stockbroker who saved the lives of 669 children. Dr. Tibbi Duboys, Professor of Education at Brooklyn College and the author of "Primer of Holocaust Education" will guest lecture.
