Gladys Knight At NorthFork Theatre March 18

Graced by Gladys' exquisite voice, and the dramatic choral arrangements of the Pips, the group transcended countless musical fads, achieved mainstream and international success in the mid 1970's, and made some of the most memorable records of our time: "Every Beat Of My Heart", "Letter Full of Tears", "I Heard It Through The Grapevine", "The Nitty Gritty", "Friendship Train", "You Need Love Like I Do (Don't You)", "If I Were Your Woman", "I Don't Want To Do Wrong", "Neither One Of Us", "Midnight Train To Georgia", "I've Got To Use My Imagination", "Best Thing That Ever Happened To Me", "On And On", "The Way We Were/ Try To Remember", "Save The Overtime (For Me"), "Love Overboard", and others. In all, 36 albums have touched our emotions, caused us to dream, and made us dance.

In 1995, Gladys received a star on the "Hollywood Walk Of Fame." Then in 1996, Gladys Knight & The Pips were inducted into the Rock 'n' Roll Hall Of Fame. Also, Gladys and Kenya were featured in Robin Leach's Healthy Lifestyles Cookbook- Menus And Recipes From The Rich, Famous, And Fascinating. Gladys, an Atlanta native, was invited to perform at the 1996 Summer Olympic Opening Ceremonies, where she sang the classic "Georgia On My Mind." In February 1998, Gladys Knight & The Pips were inducted into the Rhythm 'n' Blues Hall Of Fame.

Four decades of hits followed on several record labels including Motown, Buddah, Columbia, and MCA. Ten songs reached #1 on the R&B chart, five became Top 20 pop hits, three were awarded Grammys, two in 1973 "Midnight Train To Georgia", Best R&B Vocal Performance, and "Neither One Of Us (Wants To Be The First To Say Goodbye)", Best Pop Vocal Performance. Since January 2002, Gladys has worked diligently, proving that changes in the music industry will never stop her from creating inspiring music.
