PHC Auxiliary Assists Blood Drive

New York Blood Center technicians successfully drew more than 50 pints of blood from dozens of participants at Peninsula Hospital Center's February 27th blood drive. Despite the extremely cold weather conditions, many new blood donors showed up for this month's drive in addition to those dedicated employees and friends of the hospital center who faithfully donate during each blood drive. Sara Berger, a Peninsula Hospital Center Auxilian, member of the Jewish War Veterans, and stalwart blood drive volunteer is usually the first up on the table to donate and last to leave the Meditation Room on the day of the blood drives. Auxilians Anne Levine and Gert Oltchick were also on hand throughout the event to assist the professional technicians from New York Blood Center.
