Louis A. Marciano Electrician
Louis A. Marciano, a resident of Lawrence, died February 8. He was 83.
Marciano, an electrician for the Long Island Rail Road, was born on October 18, 1922 in Brooklyn. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force, and was a parishioner of Our Lady of Good Counsel.
He is survived by Francis Marciano, Patrick Marciano, Joseph Marciano, Elizabeth Carratelli, Mary Alveranga, Anthony Marciano, and Peter Marciano.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Meserole Funeral Home in Inwood. A funeral Mass was celebrated at Our Lady of Good Counsel in Inwood. Other funeral arrangements were kept private.
Joseph F. McKeon
NYS Supreme Court Clerk
Joseph F. McKeon, a lifelong Rockaway resident, died February 24.
McKeon, a retired New York State Supreme Court Clerk, was born in Rockaway Beach. He was a 40 year member and 4th Degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus; a 40 year member of Boy Scouts of America; and a past Scout Master of St. Francis de Sales Troop #81. McKeon was also a past president of the NYS Court Emeralds and past president of the Irish History Forum. He was a member of the A.O.H. Division 21; St. Brendan’s Gaelic; Member of NYS Genealogy; and the Fraternal Order of Police.
McKeon is survived by his wife, Virginia (nee Shea); children, Ellen Buchholz (Mark), Joseph F. McKeon IV, David McKeon (Marie), and Suzanne Weiner (Jonathan); mother-in-law, A. Virginia Shea; brothers, John L. McKeon, Charles P. McKeon, Christopher McKeon, and Thomas V. McKeon; sisters, Jane McNulty, Maureen Arasin, and Margaret Stazko; and grandchildren, Amanda Elizabeth McKeon, Mark and Ryan Buchholz, and Joell McKeon.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Denis S. O’Connor Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Francis de Sales Church. Interment was held at St. Charles Cemetery in Farmingdale, New York.
Charles J. O’Neill, Jr.
Formerly of Rockaway,
Charles J. O’Neill, Jr., a former resident of Rockaway and Broad Channel, died at the Hernando-Pasco Care Center in Brooksville, Florida on February 27.
O’Neill was born in Coatbridge, Scotland and raised in Rockaway. He later resided in Broad Channel and worked for the New York Telephone Company. He married his wife, Margaret, 51 years ago, and the announcement was in The Wave. The O’Neill’s later relocated to Interlachen, Florida. Two and a half years ago, they moved to Spring Hill, Florida.
O’Neill is survived by his wife, Margaret O’Neill of Spring Hill; sons, Charles of Lansing, Michigan, Dennis and Patrick of Interlachen, James and Walter of Gainsville, Florida, Joseph of Miami; daughters, Margaret Arnold of Interlachen and Renette Miret of Sunny Isle, Florida; sister, Ruby Webster of Long Island; seven grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
Funeral services were entrusted to Brewer & Sons Funeral Homes and Cremation Services in Spring Hill.
