Foreign Stars Shine On Ice At Nassau Coliseum March 11
For the past 19 years, Olympic Champion and skating icon Scott Hamilton has thrilled audiences by delivering the very best in skating with his annual Stars on Ice tour. Now the co-founder and longtime co-producer once again joins forces with his multiple Emmy Award winning creative team for the 20th Anniversary U.S. tour of Smucker’s Stars on Ice coming to the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Long Island on Saturday, March 11th, 2006 at 7:30 p.m.
The 2006 tour is titled “A Show …about the show.” Though Hamilton will not “personally” appear in the show, he will prominently serve as host and narrator in a most “unique” way, taking audiences on a journey that will give a humorous backstage look as to how Stars on Ice became America’s most prestigious figure skating tour. Beginning with his desire to produce a skating show composed of Olympic, World and National Champions and World class performances, Hamilton will reveal the entire creative process …from auditions to rehearsals, from not so perfect moments, to life on the road, and finally… to another exciting opening night!
Headlining the 2006 season is, as always, an extraordinary cast of figure skating’s most revered stars including reigning Olympic Gold medalist and skating phenom Alexei Yagudin, world-renowned 2002 Olympic Pair Champions Jamie Salé & David Pelletier of Canada plus World Champion and 6time U.S. National Champion Todd Eldredge, World Champion and 2-time Japanese Champion Yuka Sato.
