Man Threw Little Girl, Punched Her Mom: Police

A Rockaway Park man was arrested at home Sunday after he allegedly flung his girlfriend’s 7-year-old daughter off a chair and then punched his girlfriend when she said she was calling the cops to intervene, police said.

Simon Escobar, 35, is charged with endangering the welfare of a child, menacing and harassment following the domestic incident.

Police were called to Escobar’s home at 321 Beach 101 Street at about 7 p.m. Sunday after he allegedly threw the young girl from a chair and turned on his girlfriend when she said she was calling 911. Escobar said “he was going to kill her and then punched her in the chest,” according to court records.

The Wave is withholding the name of the 7-year-old girl due to her age.

Escobar was released on his own recognizance after his arraignment on Monday and is due back in court on March 16.
