Pervert Pastor Preyed On His Daughters

By Brian Magoolaghan

A religious leader accused of repeatedly having sex with his teenage daughter and sexually abusing two younger daughters inside their Rockaway residence faces just four years in prison if convicted, The Wave has learned.

The 53-year-old man, who is a pastor at a Long Island church, was charged last week with incest, two counts of endangering the welfare of a child and two counts of sexual abuse, according to court records. The Wave is withholding the man’s name to protect the identities of his victims.

Authorities say the man had sex with his eldest daughter about twice a week since July, 2001. The girl, who is now 19 years old, was 14 when the alleged incest began. Authorities say the pastor also groped and fondled his two other daughters on 17 different occasions from September 2004 to June 2005. Both girls were less than 14 years old at the time.

The abuse reportedly came to light when the 19-year-old daughter confided in a relative who would not keep the sickening abuse a secret and told the abused girls’ mother, who went to the 100 Precinct to report her husband.

“What allegedly happened to these children is every child’s and every mother’s worst nightmare,” said Queens District Attorney Richard A. Brown. “Even after the physical abuse has stopped, the consequences of such sexual assault for victims are profound and can result in emotional trauma from which they may never recover.”

Despite the heinous nature of the alleged actions, the pastor faces a maximum of four years in prison, according to Brown. That sentence provides less than one year of imprisonment for each year the pastor allegedly had sex with his daughter.

Calls to the pastor’s church went unanswered this week.
