African American Heritage Month Awards
|Locals from the Rockaway peninsula were honored on Saturday, February 4 at the annual African American Heritage Month Awards Reception, held at the Langston Hughes Library and Cultural Center, Queens Library, in Corona. The Rockaway Artists Alliance was awarded the Cultural Organization Award. There to accept the plaque was president Geoff Rawling and Keisha Frazier, who wrote a poem about art. Linda S. Plummer, a real estate broker from Remax Realty in Rockaway Park, was given the Business Award for achievement.
