Will There Be Justice?

Dear Editor,

The biggest crimes in modern political history have gone unpunished.

Mark Felt passing confidential, sensitive information of an ongoing FBI investigation to Woodward and Bernstein.

Bill Clinton receiving campaign money from communist China, via the Buddhist temples of California, allegedly in exchange for nuclear missiles technology, though no witness survived.

Bill Clinton’s former National Security Advisor, Sandy Berger, for the burglary of highly classified and sensitive Homeland Security documents.

Dan Rather’s forgery of Texas Air National Guard federal documents.

Will there be justice?

Church Thief Should Rethink Values

Dear Editor,

The person who stole new jackets donated for sale to benefit the Congregational Church and its programs robbed God’s house. This pitiful human being should examine his or her values and take steps to make himself or herself an upstanding member of society.

Where Is The Money Going?

Dear Editor,

I attended the annual Rockaway Residents Association dinner dance a few weeks ago and the Association honored John Lenihan as Man of the Year. John got this award for what??? I don’t know what he does for the Association; only perhaps annoy people collecting dues for the Association every year. I, and many others find this rather strange; what organization honors their own members with the Man of the Year Award- it’s beyond me.

I also attended the Belle Harbor Dinner Dance a few weeks prior to the Rockaway Dinner Dance, and the price of the dance was $50. I think $50 for this dance was a bit pricey as it was held in the Knights of Columbus. In my opinion there is someone filling their pockets in this Association; the Beach Club only charges $50 a head and the Knights of Columbus same price-there is a lot of profit here. Where is the extra money going to? An audit of the Association would be a good idea and a copy of the records sent to every member.

Speaking of dues, where does all the money go to- into the pockets of the Committee members? A few years ago it was common knowledge that the members were buying presents for themselves at Christmas.

Eddie Re is the President of the Rockaway Residents Association and has been for many years. He lives in Belle Harbor and it’s totally contradictory that he is the President of the Rockaway Association. He should not be President of the Rockaway Association.

Other Ideas For Parking

On B. 116

Dear Editor,

Why can’t they just paint white lines on each side of the street for cars to park nose-in first, giving more parking spaces for everyone involved. Then they can leave the middle island for delivery trucks only to deliver their packages. The only ones in danger would be the deliverymen, who would have to be more careful than the others. It would be safer for all: parents, children and the elderly shopping on the street.

Have a Happy New Year.
