Last Stop Gourmet – First Stop For Homemade Fare The friendly wait staff delivers lunch and dinner specials each day. This counter waitress is serving the day’s special, Corned Beef and Cabbage with potato to a satisfied customer. In addition to the daily specials, the restaurant serves up a wide variety of foods, from breakfast platters to

sandwiches, heros, seafood, salads, fresh wraps as well as the traditional

hamburgers and hot dogs. The Last Stop Gourmet Shop, attached to the Rockaway Park A Train station at 222 Beach 116 Street has been serving customers at that location for many years. The restaurant boasts of the best short order cooking on the peninsula, with breakfast served all day and a wide variety of “homemade” food in a restaurant setting. The menu board over the counter says it all. It takes the entire length of the counter to list

the many items sold in the restaurant. The Last Stop Gourmet also brags of its homemade

cheesecake and pies. The restaurant is open 7 days a week for breakfast, lunch and dinner. There is ample seating available at all times of the day but many of the restaurant’s customers grab a quick bite or some coffee “and” on their way to their subway ride to Manhattan and other destinations.
