Click Here for More Information ‘Walk With Me’ Against Domestic Violence In an effort to raise awareness concerning domestic violence, Assemblymembers Audrey Pheffer and Michele Titus, along with the Queens Borough President’s Domestic Violence Advisory Council, is holding a silent procession on Thursday, October 27 at noon. The procession, which will take place in the atrium at York College, was created to mobilize citizens to become actively involved in combating domestic abuse. During the event, which takes place simultaneously in other parts of the state, college students will be made-up to resemble victims of violence. “My hope is that by bringing students face to face with the reality of this vicious crime, they will work toward breaking the cycle of domestic violence,” stated Assemblymember Titus. “This silent procession will be duplicated throughout New York State’s college campuses. Our goal is to raise awareness of the horrors of domestic violence, and what services are available for assistance,” said Assemblymember Pheffer. The statewide event coincides with Queens Borough President Helen Marshall’s annual fall conference on domestic violence, a full day program at York College.
