Multi-Vehicle Accident On Rainslicked CBB

A 2003 Mitsubishi heading northbound on Cross Bay Boulevard spun out on the rainslicked road just after noon on Wednesday, causing a multi-vehicle accident that sent the driver and three passengers to the Peninsula Hospital Center. According to police sources, Surendra Seegopaul, 18, of Richmond Hill lost control of his car and rear-ended a 1995 GMC Suburban at high speed. His Mitsubishi automobile then skidded into the rear door of a Green Bus occupied only by its driver. Seegopaul and his three teenage passengers were transported to Peninsula Hospital Center by the Broad Channel Volunteer Fire Department and by the city’s Emergency Medical Services ambulances. The unidentified drivers of both the Green Bus and the Suburban declined medical attention. This was the sixth major accident on Cross Bay Boulevard this year. The seventh accident of the year on that road occurred later in the evening when a car spun out and hit a utility pole, sending the driver to the hospital with unspecified injuries.
