The “Boarders Skate Jam” brought dozens of competitors to the Rockaway Skate Park at Beach 90 Street and Shore Front Parkway on Saturday. Under sunny skies, the young and not-so-young competed for bragging rights and prizes. Among the winners of the 10- year-old and younger category were Christopher Stone (1st), James McElhatton (2nd) and Michael McElhatton (3rd).
The beginners category for 11 to 15-year-olds was won by Curtis Cooper. Ivan Gamba came in second with Lyana Roldan and Ashley Raff sharing third.
The 11 to 15-year-old advanced category was won by Michael “Mickey” Mulvanerty with Angel Villanueva in second and Joseph Mazzarelli in third.
The 16-year-old and over category was won by Mike O’Toole, with Peter Giang in second and Erik Garcia in third place.
