Lady Hornets Finish Undefeated Season
The Lady Hornets AAU basketball team won the Rockville Centre Summer Recreation League. This was the team’s third time they had made it to the championship and the girls finally came out champs. The girls beat teams from all over Nassau County. The team which calls Brooklyn home is made up of mostly Rockaway area residents: Shannon Delfini, Marianne Hanning, Katie Henderson, Rebecca Moers, Kim Newman, and Maureen O’Sullivan. The girls play year round playing in tournaments in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Westchester County. They are coached by Joe DeLuca who is also the director of the Lady Hornets organization.
