St. Saviour Attempts Playoff Volleyball Bid

The St. Saviour varsity volleyball team defeated Bishop Ford in an exciting come from behind victory on Thursday, September 22nd. After taking the 1st game of the match, the pandas lost the next 2 games and were in need of a spark. That spark came from senior co-captains Elizabeth Burke and Lauren Hartnett along with fellow senior Kathleen Nihill. The trio led the charge that saw the pandas even the score at 2 games apiece and force a fifth and deciding game. As the captains for both squads met at center court Elizabeth Burke won the coin toss and the serve. St. Saviour scored the first two points of the game and never looked back as they won the game by a score of 15-9. Coach Cederstrom and the team hope to use this victory as a building block for the rest of the season as they attempt to make the playoffs for the first time in over 5 years.
