V.F.W. Scholarships For High-Schoolers

Each year the V.F.W. and its Ladies Auxiliary present awards to students on local, district, state and national levels for outstanding art and audio/ essay participation.

The scholarship program, known as the “Voice of Democracy” awards scholarships, with the first prize being $25,000 dollars. The deadline for entries is November 1, 2005.

The theme for this year’s audio/essay is “How I Demonstrate My Freedom.” Students in grades 9-12 are eligible.

The organization is urging teachers to contact them to find out how their students can participate. For more information, call (718) 634-8876.
