The Msgr. William F. Burke Rockaway Knights of Columbus Council #2672 held its first annual fishing trip to honor the memory of Michael King, a member and secretary of the Rockaway Council for five years.

The excursion set out from Sheepshead Bay on the Pastime Princess, and the group lucked out with the biggest catches on a boat of more than 60 people. First place went to David Morales, with a fluke weighing in at more than 9 pounds. Second place went to Terrence McGovern, with a 6-pound fluke, and Andy McCracken came in third with a five-and-a-quarter pound fluke.

The group was invited back to the Knights of Columbus for a BBQ to celebrate the success of the inaugural fishing trip.
