World Champions Get Deserved Recognition

The 2005 All National Karate Championships was an overwhelming success for the World Champions Karate team of Rockaway. The 4000 athletes came from every state, Puerto Rico, and several other countries. The world champions’ team garnered 30 gold, silver and bronze medals. Special recognition plaques were awarded to Shannon Edinboro (L) and Andre Asbury (R) by Sensei Bruce Hodes.

Sensei Hodes stated that these two athletes were representative of the team. They conducted themselves with exemplary sportsmanship, and carried the true Dojo spirit into the ring each time. This never give up attitude was shown by the whole 25-member team ranging in age from six year white belts to 40 year old adults.

The Dojo is located at 112-20 Beach Channel Drive.
